Dominant Negative calendar placement issue
« on: May 07, 2009, 10:11:29 PM »

I was trying to install the RL version of Dominant Negative and for some reason, I can not place the calendar in the upper-right, lower-right, or lower left corners of the screen. The calendar stops about 1 inch from the edge but will go anywhere else. Is there something I can change in the xml files to fix this? The event and task panels do not have this problem.

thanks!

Howdy ethermonk,

No XML edits necessary (thank goodness!).  Sounds like Rainlendar's "Snapping Distance" is borked for some reason. You will need to do the following, however:

  • Enter your Rainlendar Options panel.
  • Switch to the Advanced tab.
  • About 10 items down the list is Snapping Distance. Set it for a small number, 10 is the default.

If this DOESN'T resolve it, my next question would be "Are you using it with LiteStep or any form of alternative shell in Windows that would alter placement of desktop items?"

Keep us posted!

If an odd tuppence is permitted... in laymans terms what Rich is saying is ~ if you are using an alternative shell it might be that the underlying image used to form the corners might be prohibiting the RL skin from being placed close to the edge of the screen.
