Who knows the code to change the icon that appears next to your tab title? i.e. the blue orb that SYS has, or the aston logo for astonshell.com

It's a little ICO file called "favicon.ico" that you put in the root directory containing your principle web file (index.html, index.php, index.htm, etc...).
There are several online generators that will let you take an image you specify and convert it, some sophisticated enough to even re-size the images for you.

The second of Rich's links is kinda fun... there you can generate an animated favicon that rotates upwards

That is cool, but I have found that animated icons do more to annoy me than anything else, unless they are done really well that is.
